Lego Yellow Yoshi

Yellow Yoshi is the most common Yoshi figure in the Lego Mario collection. He appears in four Lego Super Mario Expansion sets.

Yellow Yoshi is always found in sets with either water or grass, though his first set featured mainly sand. He is always a friendly character, and is very helpful reaction-wise.

He has one small, but noticeable change between his first and three newer figures. This change is two quarter-round white tiles on his belly that were replaced with a white half-round tile on the newer figures.

Some of his Pieces can be found on other Yoshi figures. These are his belly made of two or three white tiles, his two white cheeks, his white neck, a three piece Yoshi saddle, and the two red frills on the back of his head.

His Scan is a cute, cartoon version of himself that appears on Mario’s screen and says “Yoshi,” followed by a vocal reaction from Mario. He is very useful and will swallow Yoshi Fruits to collect one coin. He will also swallow single scan enemies to collect five coins instead of one, but only three times. He will make a cute “Woo-ho-ho-ho!” sound when you jump high into the air and make a “Hun!” sound when you make a sudden jump.

Every time you re-scan him he will give you a heart and coins while Mario reacts vocally. If you lost him a while before, he will return if you re-scan his tag. When you hit an enemy that takes multiple scans to defeat, Yellow Yoshi will duck and shed a tear. He will leave if Mario falls and gets dizzy, if he swallows three enemies, or if Mario is damaged, in other ways.
