Lego 71421 Dixie Kong’s Jungle Jam Expansion Set

Dixie Kong’s Jungle Jam is one of the four Donkey Kong Lego Expansion sets featured in the Lego Super Mario collection. It is a nice set for display and imagination, but it skipped quite a few details that while minor, are still important to note.
Cons
I found many nitpicky details in the set that are not very well done. To start out, I found it only has one action tag and that Squawks’ and Dixie Kong’s scans are shared with the stage. I wish they would have given each character their own action tag and made the stages action tag separate. Yet, I do understand though the main function of the set would not work well without the characters action. The next, very nitpicky detail I found was that on the tip of Dixie Kong’s ponytail their is a stud with a hole, that doesn’t have a tile, while this can easily be fixed with a Lego tile in a buyers collection, I wish Lego wouldn’t have skipped that detail. I continued to find that Squawks’ tail was just a tile with a bar ad looks pretty bad without a piece like Dorrie’s fin piece (in red) to make it a little more accurate, which Lego again decided to skip. Finally they did a terrible job on the amplifier, which should of at least had a 1×2 tile with printing on the top. They could of put a little more work into the amplifier because it just looks bad.
Pros
For good things I found the characters, besides their tiny flaws, were very well done with a lot of attention to detail, especially Squawks wings which I think look superb. I also like the palm trees and think the bananas that were added are very nice. I also like the wire detail on the red guitar made of two studs. I also like the bongo drums which are very fun and add some great imagination to the set. The stage looks really good and is great for display. And finally, the lights on the wire above the stage are cool and I think add some color to this set.
Overall it is a good set and is fun to have, just seems to be more like a twenty dollar set. Thank you for reading my article.
